Energy and Equipment Monitoring

TruCount Pro brings power demand, energy consumption, equipment runtime and door or switch readings into the same web console. Operations teams can review what an asset is reporting now, investigate when a change occurred and coordinate a response to readings that meet a configured condition.

Choose the measurement that answers your question. Power demand describes the level of power being drawn, while energy consumption records usage over time. Runtime readings help teams review how long equipment has been operating. Door and switch states describe the condition reported by the connected sensor.

How it works

Name the sensor or asset and associate it with the correct site or group. Confirm that the displayed reading and unit match the measurement you intend to track. Use a filtered time window to compare the readings before and after a change. Export that window as CSV if colleagues need to compare it with other records.

Set up the dashboard around the people who will use it. The operator checking conditions needs to find the relevant site, group and sensor quickly. The person responding to an incident also needs the time and reading that caused the alert. Agree on clear names and use the same names in rules so those two views make sense together.

Example alert rule

Configure a high power-demand rule for an asset and specify how long the reading must remain above the limit before alerting. The duty contact can review the trend, check associated runtime or state readings where available, and assign an investigation. Use a clear condition to follow the return to the expected range.

Review readings and coordinate a response

Decide who should receive an email and who will take ownership when an incident opens. Acknowledge it to show that someone is responding, then assign it if another person needs to investigate. During planned work, use a maintenance or suppression window where appropriate. After the work, check that the expected readings are arriving again.

When reviewing an incident, use a time window that includes readings before the alert and after the condition cleared. Keep the measurement and unit consistent so the comparison is meaningful. A CSV export lets a colleague inspect the same readings, while the incident record keeps the response and assignment visible to the team.

Frequently asked questions

Can I monitor a door or switch alongside energy readings?

Yes. Door and switch states are supported alongside power demand and energy consumption when connected sensors supply them.

Can I check whether an equipment sensor is still reporting?

Yes. Use the last reading timestamp and configure a missing-readings rule where a gap needs attention.

Can I compare demand over time?

Yes. Select a time range for historical readings and export the filtered results as CSV for a review.

Can the team track who is responding to an alert?

Yes. Incident response supports acknowledgement and assignment. The team can also configure email contacts and escalation.
